Virginia is the top data center market in the U.S., like 3x that of Texas in terms of planned new facilities.

Finally up for air. The energy edition work ahead is a sequel to last year’s “The Long Runway for New Energy Demand.” In April, I began formulating what the general gist should be, and then the pieces of the puzzle came together.

The climate right now is very dynamic in energy, like never before. Increasingly, I find myself engaging with an extended circle of people and organizations. This is exciting.

The research period was insane, more so than last year even. There are many reasons why, one of which is that I was also working on two other related works for early December and January 2026. The images adjacent are spinoff research notes.
