After a productive year in energy and resources work, I start with hydrogen in Europe at a time when their world held the promise of green shoots; by the end of the year, the economic and energy reality shifted to a war-induced bad dream.
To meet the energy demand of the future, greater efficiency with capital and natural resources will be needed. This requires some collective discipline and reality checks.
The future is here, now. Spending several days in Seattle’s Capitol Hill and South Lake Union areas opened my eyes to the blending of sustainability practices, tech’s expanding footprint and the energy world in which we live.
